Sky’s Samurai successfully employs the keep it simple philosophy of building a vehicle. Sporting 37″ GoodYear MT/Rs on as little lift as possible give this Samurai an unmatched agility on the off-camber slopes and steep grades of the Pacific NorthWest.

Remaining true to the roots the Samurai is motivated by a 1.3 liter engine with a Calmini header and a Dual Mikuni Sidedraft setup. The axles are of Toyota manufacture but the interesting part is that Sky has created an off-set rear axle to match the Calmini geared 5.8:1 Samurai t-case output.

Sky uses his Toyota Hi-steer componetry to provide an effective bump-steer free steering system. Additionally, he created a disk brake conversion for the rear Toyota axle for more whoa!

The Mickey Thompson wheels with a set of “SKY-LOKS” manufactured by Sky’s Offroad Design really set off this vehicles functionality and form. Sky has also added an new type of traction bar system to this Samurai to keep the springs happy.

The Rock Sliderz are made of high-quality steel and are built to take the harshest punishment.

The front end has been completely customized with a new set up custom built tubes and lights. Sky was careful to leave the Samurai character during his creative pursuits.

Out back the Samurai has a custom steel bumper with clevis style tow points. The roll cage is a family style and he has kept the rear seat to haul ‘guest’ out on the trail.
