TSF, OR. —ZUKIWORLD travels to the Tillimook State Forest OHV park to tackle the newest, latest, and greatest trail to be built by the state and some local volunteers. The trail is called ‘Bone Crusher’ and that is for good reason. This is one of the hardest trails we’ve ever run and is sure to get better and better as time and travel occurs.

We met up with Keith Willison from Vancouver Washington early on a beautiful Saturday morning with the express intent of being the first to run the third new leg of four that will eventually complete the Bone Crusher Trail System. I call it that because the planners have ingeniously formed a plan that creates two trails side by side so that when someone gets completely blown up in the trail, the trail is not closed. We had spoken with Brush Buster member Roger Christal earlier about opening the trail and running it. He and a handful of other volunteers have been working with the Oregon Department Of Forestry’s Ian Caldwell to build this trail.

We arrived to the sounds of whistling. Roger was already on the trail clearing brush and debris. He yelled up to us to bring down his chain saw so we could remove the last of the deadfall blocking the trail. We quickly removed the last dead tree, walked the trail with Roger, and with a deep breath, began to traverse our way down through the Samurai sized boulders on this virgin trail.

Below is a sampling of the photos taken. The trail is not easily narrated. So, we will let the pictures do the talking. If you are close to the NorthWest, we would encourage you to reserve some time to do this trail next year. It is extremely enjoyable.
